Picked this up in an Op shop to read as I loved the TV adaptation of her book 'Normal People'. Didn't really enjoy it though - just felt too slow, laboured and a little boring and pretentious. I think I'm probably just the wrong generation to really 'get' this book as I know lots of people love her writing.

I enjoyed this book as it was an engaging read with three intertwined stories centred around water. At times very moving, with some beautifully written passages. However, it felt a little superficial as it tried to cover so much and none of the characters were as fully developed as I had hoped.
