  • The witches daughter

    I did enjoy this. But I enjoyed some time periods more than others. I didn't particularly like Elizabeth even though she was on rhe side of good. Quite long winded but I will give the next book in the series a go.

    Loved this mystery crime novel set on the West Coast of the South Island. The main character Matt is a sole policeman in the town after the last cop of over 20 years retires. He was a 20 year veteran when things went wrong. He finds the cop he replaced dead with a bullet in his head. I really enjoyed this book. There was however too many characters to remember. This meant for me not remembering who the murder was when it was revealed. I had to go back to remember who the murderer was.

    I read this very quickly because I needed to know what was going to happen. Sad, dark but there was also humour at times. I enjoyed looking at the world through Sally's eyes. I felt incredibly sad for Peter and Sally's birth mum.
