Fantastic read for kaiako over the summer holidays. This is an accessible volume to pick up and read then put down between other titles. I really like the efficient ways McGill suggests for marking. One particular method - The Yellow Box - is my key takeaway. He suggests "Choose one area of a students work to mark - just one section - and draw a yellow box around it. Mark it well and in detail, offering feedback that is sophisticated and above all diagnostic... the yellow box focuses students to act on feedback with a clear and specific framework".
A lovely summer read. This book tells the story of Jane Austen falling in love with a lawyer named Samuel Rose. Perfect for loves of Austen's work or those interested in the political and racial tensions that existed in her time.
