Nice to read a book I've only known before through student essays.
An excellent graphic novel that tells the story of Christophe André's kidnapping in Chechneya in 1991.
Not everyone's cup of tea, I'll bet. He's a bit all up in his head is our narrator, but darkly funny.
Recommended by my daughter. I very much enjoyed the first one, but found this one a little more formulaic. Great world-building and a strong sense of humour. I think it's definitely a classic series that I'd recommend. I may try the others in the series. (Miss 10 recommends Silverborn especially).
My final EDUC 504 reading for the weekend. It's an overview of some of the efforts being made by tertiary institutions across the world to develop the skills and attitudes of intercultural competence.
Another EDUC 504 reading. A bit dense for me on such a glorious day as this one.
More reading for EDUC504. This is a paper that speaks quite a bit to our times. Interesting to reflect on multiculturalism as policy, rather than description.
Required reading for EDUC504, part of my MSSL course. Looks at power relations in society in terms of "power distance" and draws some useful contrasts between the types of educational expectations and relationships found in large- and small-distance societies.
This is another useful and informative guide to neurodivergence from Chanelle Moriah. I gained a lot from their other two books on autism and ADHD, and thoroughly recommend them. This one is also a handy literacy guide to the complexities of reading and writing acquisition. Useful reading for all teachers.
